“We see that now Poroshenko, together with other political forces in Ukraine, have come together to warn Zelensky of the steps that he outlined. And it’s interesting that the steps, primarily related to the achievement of peace in the Donbass, with an attempt to at least somehow constructively approach this issue and begin to gradually implement the Minsk agreements, ”the expert added.

According to Daniuk, Poroshenko is thus trying to "expose himself as the main opposition politician."

Earlier, the ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko warned the current Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky against negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin “face to face” at the upcoming summit in the Norman format.

So, Poroshenko did not recommend Zelensky to discuss the “gas issue” at the summit in order to “prevent Russia from forming an unprofitable package of agreements for Ukraine, according to which Ukraine would make important concessions in the political track for cheap gas.”

On December 2, Zelensky said that the Norman-format summit, which will be held in Paris on December 9, is a good opportunity to start a dialogue on the situation in the Donbass.
