The women are dressed in turn-of-the-century dresses that take a long time to put on. The women float around on stage. The set is a free interpretation of Karin Johannisson's book and is a kind of musical theater with contemporary musical elements.

The play's director Kajsa Isakson immediately saw three monologues emerge from the book.

- In our dramatization, when downstroke in different parts of Karin Johannisson's book, everything could not be accommodated in the play, says director Kajsa Isakson.

Artists with mental illness

In the play we have to follow three artists Agnes von Krusenstjerna, Nelly Sachs and Sigrid Hjertén who all three suffer from mental illness.

- For me it was about putting myself in Sigrid Hjertén's life and being as fair to what I can and having as much understanding and empathy, says the actor Gunnel Fred.
