"At present, the investigation of the case is over, G. Karimova is getting acquainted with the materials of the criminal case with the participation of lawyers," the statement said.
In 2015, Karimova was convicted of extortion and tax evasion. In 2017, she was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, however, later the sentence was replaced by a restriction of freedom for five years with the serving of her daughter in Tashkent at the place of residence.
In early March, due to violations of the conditions of serving the sentence, Karimov was transferred to a colony. In August, new cases were opened against her about embezzlement of state funds and conclusion of transactions contrary to the interests of the state.
The amount of damage caused is estimated at more than $ 165 million and 85 billion soums (about $ 9 million), the press service said.
