Several police unions reported on Thursday their "dread" and concern after CRS received anonymous letters threatening their families with reprisals. On Europe 1, Grégory Joron, the General Secretary of the union Unit SGP-FO Police, asks for anonymization measures for police personnel.

REACTION

"From now on, it will be an eye for an eye". Several CRS have received threatening letters to their homes of this content, union sources said Thursday. These letters are signed "ACAB", the initials of "All Cops Are Bastards". Translate: "All cops are bastards". Letters in which the families of these police officers are also threatened. Although the Ministry of the Interior has promised to identify the perpetrators, Grégory Joron, the secretary general of the union Unit SGP-FO Police, interviewed Friday on Europe 1, believes that a new threshold has been crossed.

Promise of "merciless physical retaliation"

"It is obviously very disturbing, there is a feeling of fear, which is even more significant when it is the wife or the husband of a colleague who opened the mail. my wife has quietly opened the mail, imagine her reaction when she reads threatening words against her children, promising ruthless physical reprisals, as soon as there is a wounded man in the demonstrations ", reports Grégory Joron.

Questioned by AFP, the national police reported "three shipments", all addressed to CRS, adding that there had been "filing a complaint" and opening an "investigation". The union unit SGP Police FO evokes for its part "a few dozen" letters addressed to the home of CRS on the move.

SGP-FO Unit asks for concrete measures

"The facts reported by @UNITESGPPOLICE are extremely serious," reacted on Twitter Christophe Castaner in the evening. "Everything must be done to identify the perpetrators of this infamy, I will never accept that those who protect us, even those in their homes, are threatened, these acts must be condemned by all," he adds.

But more than words, Unit SGP-FO Police is asking for concrete action. "We hope that all police and police officers, as well as the administrative and scientific staff, can be anonymized in all acts of procedure, in all documents", insists Grégory Joron. And to question: "Does our world, our society, with the difficulties we have, allow to leave the possibility of identifying police officers? I am not sure".
