The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which confirmed that it had registered Cardiff's appeal challenging a Fifa decision to pay Nantes the first payment of the transfer of Emiliano Sala, said Thursday that no decision will intervene before June 2020 in this file.

"A hearing should be scheduled for spring 2020. But the decision is not expected before June 2020," said the CAS in a statement, while confirming having received the request of the Welsh club.

The latter, recruiter of the player who died in a plane crash at the end of January 2019, considers that he does not owe the 6 million euros that the Commission of the status of the player of Fifa asked him to pay to FC Nantes in a published decision end of September.

This amount corresponds to the first payment of the total transaction (17 million euros) for the transfer of the player. The next two deadlines are scheduled for January 2020 (EUR 6 million) and January 2021 (EUR 5 million).
