“Yes, there is very cautious optimism, very cautious optimism,” Peskov said in an interview with Rain.

He noted that the two leaders spoke repeatedly on the phone.

“It was constructive communication ... If the same constructive dialogue is continued during the face-to-face meeting, this will create the prerequisites for an easy access to decisions that concern both sides,” he said.

Earlier, Zelensky said the importance of negotiations with Putin, noting that the lack of dialogue is "running in place."
