The purpose of the courses, during the summer months June to August, is to give the students a faster way out into working life. Umeå University is proposed to receive just over SEK 6.7 million to offer summer courses, according to the budget proposal for 2020.
- We need to get more knowledgeable and competent teachers in Swedish schools and therefore teacher education is given special priority in this initiative, says Matilda Ernkrans, Minister of Higher Education and Research in a press release.
Courses in teacher education are prioritized - especially courses in the core educational sciences, Swedish as a second language and sports and health.
