At open receptions, the principal, school nurse, curator, special teacher, study counselor and recreational leader meet several times a week and discuss the students' feelings and what kind of efforts they may need.

- It can be anything from the fact that a student looks sad that someone is often alone or that something is not working on the lessons, says high school teacher Cecilia Weggvei.

About five to fifteen teachers a week come to open reception to breathe clouds of worry.

- All matters are up to everyone until we decide who does what, says Rector Johan Hallberg.

The method is partly about gaining competence and acting quickly, but also about creating long-term relationships with the students and being present in the classroom, at the break and in the student cafeteria.

Hard to measure

The school started to work systematically with health so that everyone would leave school with grades. 100 per cent were eligible for high school programs, while the figure for the entire municipality this year was 86.8 per cent. This has been the case in recent years. If that by definition means that the students' feeling is better is hard to say.

- We can only do as much as possible and hope that it will pay dividends, says Johan Hallberg.
