According to the document, the day off is postponed from Saturday, December 28, to Tuesday, December 31.

Local authorities of the Crimean municipalities are also recommended to accept such changes.

The postponement of the holiday will affect state civil servants, people holding public office, and employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations that are under the jurisdiction of Crimean state bodies.

“Now Crimeans will be able to calmly prepare for the holiday, not torn between work and New Year's chores. This is especially important for our women, who have the main burden these days, ”Aksyonov commented on the decree.

Earlier, the Governor of the Kirov region Igor Vasiliev signed a decree on declaring the region a day off on December 31, 2019.

State Duma deputy Sergei Boyarsky, in an interview with the PolitExpert publication, commented on the draft law being submitted to the State Duma, according to which it is proposed to make December 31 a day off.
