The corresponding statement was published on the department’s Facebook page.

“I’m deeply concerned about media reports about the statements of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, about the denial of the annexation of the Ukrainian Crimea by Russia,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

The Ukrainian ministry added that the corresponding side would be made to the Kazakh side.

Earlier, Tokayev said that Kazakhstan prefers not to call the reunification of Crimea with Russia annexation.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, at which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
