The corresponding document is published in the electronic database of the State Duma.
As indicated in the explanatory note to the document, for wholesale or retail trade we squeeze, snus, as well as any sucking and chewing mixtures containing nicotine and its derivatives, and their analogues must be fined for citizens from 5 to 10 thousand rubles or administrative arrest 15 days.
Along with this, for similar actions by officials, it is proposed to punish with a fine of 30 to 50 thousand rubles or arrest for up to 15 days, and legal entities with a fine of 100 to 300 thousand rubles.
According to the authors of the bill, these norms will allow "to eliminate the corresponding gap in law and actually protect the life and health of Russian citizens from their destructive effects."
Earlier, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, Boris Chernyshov, initiated the introduction of criminal punishment in Russia for wholesalers and retailers of certain types of non-smoking tobacco, namely snus and nasvay.
State Duma deputy, member of the ONF’s central headquarters, Natalya Kostenko, said in an interview with the NSN that there are fines for selling snus, but they don’t work.
