According to Melnikov, members of the PMC of Moscow visited Sokolov in a psychiatric hospital.

He noted that the transfer of the accused from St. Petersburg to Moscow took place “without problems”, “there is no pressure” on Sokolov.

“At the moment he is with a cellmate accused of theft. Previously, Sokolov’s cellmate was accused of rape, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

It is also noted that Sokolov has access to the library, he was given the book Faust.

Melnikov added that the accused does not complain about food at Butyrka, but “he perceives the television in the cell as part of socialization.”

Earlier, the PMC of Moscow reported that Sokolov after the examination will be transferred back to St. Petersburg.

On November 11, a court in St. Petersburg arrested a 63-year-old historian on charges of killing a graduate student. The accused pleaded guilty.

According to the investigation, the girl was shot dead on the night of November 8, then her body was dismembered and tried to drown in the Moika River.
