The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia will be forced to implement a range of retaliatory measures in connection with this situation.

“We consider the statements of the German side on the expulsion of two employees of the Russian embassy in Berlin as baseless and unfriendly,” the Foreign Ministry quoted Interfax as saying.

The diplomatic service emphasized that "a politicized approach to the investigation is inadmissible."

“We are forced to implement a set of response measures,” they added to the Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the press service of the German Prosecutor General’s Office said that there is sufficient evidence of Russia's involvement in the murder of a Georgian citizen in Berlin.

Spokesman for the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that assumptions about Russia's involvement in the contract killings in Berlin are completely groundless.
