- But the staff found out today. It was something of a surprise, there has been an awareness that some kind of pull-down would happen but not that they would close the base completely. We probably hoped it wouldn't hit us, says Lena Josefsson, at the airport's marketing department.
She adds that Ryanair's message means that the base will be temporarily closed.
In addition, the company continues to fly from Skavsta Airport, but to what extent is not yet known, says Lena Josefsson.
- We do not know how many lines will go from Skavsta, we have not received that information. It is also not possible to see on their website which lines can be booked and not.
What does this mean for airport employees?
- The number of flights is what affects how much staff we need, but at present we can't say anything about it. If they close down lines, it may mean fewer employees, but hopefully not.
