In a press release, the county administrative board says that the Coast Guard has patrolled affected areas along the coast, but that no more discoveries have been made, and therefore it is unlikely that the lumps will be more.

- Similar lumps have previously been found along the shoreline outside Mörbylånga in Kalmar County, writes Martin Persson, the county administrative board in Blekinge, in the press release.

Not toxic

Analyzes conducted by the Coast Guard of the lumps outside Mörbylånga show that in this case it was paraffin which was rinsed out when cleaning vessel tanks. It is probably the same type of pollution that has now appeared in Blekinge.

According to the county administrative board, the paraffin is not toxic, but dog owners are urged to supervise their dogs when walking along the coast.
