As noted in the explanatory note to the document, the initiative aims to attract "additional labor resources" to the country's economy.
It is specified that the draft amends articles 14 and 27 of the federal law “On Citizenship of Russia”, according to which foreigners could previously obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner without observing the term of residence in case of disability or if they have capable adult children.
Earlier it was reported that the government will submit to the State Duma a “revolutionary project” on the simplified acquisition of Russian citizenship, which involves the abolition of the requirement to renounce the citizenship of another country.
