Agents of the Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested on Monday a 44-year-old man and Spanish nationality as the alleged author of the death of his romantic partner this morning in the town of El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona).
The man has surrendered this morning at the Mossos police station in the town, where he has been arrested.
Police investigate the violent death of the woman, whose body has been found in her flat. The first information indicates that it has been found with a cut in the body. Therefore, the Mossos work with the hypothesis that it is a homicide and a case of gender violence.
The interrogation of the detainee will provide more information about a possible new sexist crime. The victim was 41 years old and was of Russian nationality.
If it is confirmed, as everything seems, that it is a case of gender-based violence, it would be the ninth woman killed in Catalonia this year by her partner or former partner.
