“The USA has nothing to do with Crimea. What kind of talk can there be with US participation in returning Crimea to Ukraine? The only thing the American authorities can do is help Ukraine recognize Crimea as an integral part of Russia, ”RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The senator from Crimea recalled that the peninsula has forever become part of Russia, and Kiev can only discuss the possibility of improving relations with Moscow.

“There can be only one topic of conversation: how can Ukraine improve relations with Russia. And to improve relations with Russia, Ukraine needs to remove the topic of Crimea and permanently delete it from the Ukrainian agenda, ”Tsekov emphasized.

Earlier, the Kremlin ruled out any discussion of Crimea in the framework of the Norman summit.

At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that if this topic arises during a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Vladimir Putin will give "detailed and consistent answers" to all questions.

On December 2, Zelensky in an interview with the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza noted that US participation would be useful in the issue of Crimea.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, at which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
