The mobilization of teachers is organized as part of the national strike day of December 5th. Many kindergartens and primary schools may be closed on Thursday but the scale of the mobilization will be known that day.

Among the many protesting sectors that prepare the national strike day of Thursday, December 5 is the one of teachers. The extent of the mobilization of the faculty will be known only the same day but what is sure is that the teachers are already organized. Many kindergartens and primary schools are scheduled to close on Thursday.

2 primary teachers out of 3 on strike

According to the latest information from SNUipp-FSU, the teachers' union of the first degree, there could be two out of three primary teachers on strike across France and therefore a closed school on two. When there is more than 25% of strikers among the teachers, a minimum service is normally provided. This can be arranged with other agents such as maternal helpers or canteen staff.

So why will so many schools be closed? What complicates the situation is that these personnel will also be on strike ... For the primary, the most affected areas, according to the unions, will be Paris, where there could be 200 schools closed, the Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, the Herald, the Isère or the Moselle.

Renewal of the strike is not yet decided

In the secondary, the estimate is more complicated because the strikers do not have to declare themselves in advance. The east of the capital, Toulouse and the South-East could be particularly mobilized. As for the renewal of the strike beyond December 5, nothing has yet been decided.

Unions are also thinking of a new high point around December 10th.
