The police have received another notification of a robbery at the Government Offices and since Sunday evening a man arrested for probable cause is suspected of theft and serious weapons crime.

Previously, a preliminary investigation into theft of six pistols and special ammunition was stolen, which was stolen inside the Government Offices. That notification came in on October 25.

Security guard arrested

According to Towe Hägg at the Stockholm Police, the arrested person is linked to the later report.

- Now we look at similarities and differences in both investigations, she tells SVT News.

Prosecutor Lucas Eriksson states that the arrested person is employed by Securitas. It is about a man in his 30s who works as a guard at the Government Offices.

"Can't comment"

Axel Andersson, Press Manager at Securitas, does not want to comment on the information.

- It's a protective object so I can't comment on that, he says to Veckans Brott.

But that a security guard with you is in custody for theft and serious weapons crime should you be able to comment?

- Since it is a protective object, I cannot comment on this, there is privacy, he says.

Stolen "extra weapons"

The first notification, which came in October, concerns so-called "extra weapons" to be used by the Government Offices' security guards in, for example, terrorist threats or ongoing terrorist attacks. The security of the weapons is maintained by Securitas and it is unclear how many people have had access to the cabinet.

The police do not want to disclose how many weapons the second notification relates to and if they were found.

Rosenbad is being renovated right now and therefore the Government Offices have temporarily relocated to other premises. Exactly where the thefts occurred is unclear.
