Dallas confirmed its status as a serious underdog in the NBA winning Sunday 114-100 against the Lakers of Los Angeles, who remain first in the Western Conference, while in the other game of LA, the Clippers have largely dominated the Washington Wizards (150-125).

The Mavericks put an end to the Lakers' 10-game winning streak by inflicting their biggest loss since the start of the season.

The California franchise, however, started the game better, dominating the Mavericks, but the scoreboard remained balanced at half-time (62-59), leaving Dallas hope to come back.

And it was in the third quarter that Dallas made the difference, scoring 35 points, against 17 for the Lakers. For the only third quarter, Luka Doncic scored 16 points, took 4 rebounds and offered 5 assists.

Under the eyes of Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, who was applauded by the Staples Center, Doncic finished the game with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. To win this victory, he was well helped by his teammates, Kristaps Porzingis, Dwight Powell and Justin Jackson each scoring 15 points, when Delon Wright is 17.

All managed to shake up a Lakers defense, the third best in the league, which has not been unworthy, with 9 interceptions, including 4 for LeBron James (25 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists) and 3 against, including 2 for Anthony Davis (27 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists).

"It's a great win that means a lot to us," said Luka Doncic, "which shows that we can also play against big teams, we just have to keep going."

. Clippers-Wizards: more than 30 points for Kawhi and Paul George

A few hours later, still at Staples Center, the Clippers have largely dominated the Washington Wizards, recording their eighth straight home win.

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George scored more than 30 points each (34 and 31 respectively), while Montrezl Harrell had a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Lou Williams was also in the game with 22 points.

With this twelfth straight win at home against Washington, the Clippers are consolidating their third place in the Western Conference (15 wins, 6 losses).

. Toronto-Utah: match at records

The Raptors and the Jazz offered a spectacle for the least amazing and rich in records. Toronto led 77-37 at half-time, a score that represents both the biggest advantage in Toronto's history and the biggest points deficit for Utah at this point in the game.

The Jazz tried to answer by scoring 49 points in the third quarter, the quarter-time franchise's best score and the worst score (tied) Toronto had in a quarter-time.

But that was not enough to defeat Toronto, second in the East Conference with 14 wins and 4 losses, which marks a seventh straight win (130-110) and its ninth win in as many games .

"We were nil," said Utah coach Quin Snyder, who "needless to say we need more focus at the start of games."

. The Frenchies: Fournier at 32 points, double-double for Gobert

Three Frenchmen walked the floors this night.

Particularly skillful (13 of 21 shots, 6 of 10 to 3 points), Evan Fournier equaled the best score of his career, scoring 32 points. He also took 3 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to victory against the Golden State Warriors (100-96).

"It was a big win, the back was happy, there are more opportunities for me (because of injuries) and the coach is more appealing to me, I'm trying to play well." "He did a great game," commented Steve Clifford, the Magic coach, "He's not just scoring for us, he's efficient, he scores 32 points in 21 shots, it's effective."

In Toronto, Rudy Gobert scored a double-double (12 points and 11 rebounds) with the Jazz.

Frank Ntilikina (3 points, 1 assist) played only 7 minutes in the defeat of the New York Knicks against the Celtics, who did not play Vincent Poirier.
