"We are here to honor them"

Among the young people present, there will also be college students from Gap, a garrison city of four honored soldiers. If they meet them every day in the street, the ceremony is an opportunity to discover the true meaning of their commitment. "It's going to be a lot of emotion, we may be young, but we understand what's going on," says a student. Another adds: "We are here to honor them, and thank them for protecting us every moment."

Before making the trip, the class worked with his history and geography teacher on Operation Barkhane. A war in the Sahel that Chloe, 14, discovers. "We were told why there are soldiers there, and some are dying there, we did not really realize it." Their presence has a pedagogical meaning, salutes the principal of the college: "I hope that they will remove the sense of the republican values ​​carried by both the army and by the national education. young people from France.
