The French handball players have again disappointed by conceding the draw against Brazil 19-19 in their second game of the World Cup, Sunday in Yamaga, Japan, the day after their surprise defeat to South Korea (29-27).

The defending Blue keeps their chances of qualifying for the main round, but have once again shown very far from their best level against rivals who are not among the contenders to the podium.

France will have to win its next three meetings to continue its route. The first against the weak Australia will not pose problems Tuesday and all will be played against Germany then Denmark Thursday and Friday.

More solid than the day before in defense, the champions of the world and Europe were catastrophic in attack. "It feels like seven or eight years back," regretted the coach Olivier Krumbholz.

The only one to make a great match was, as against South Korea, the goalkeeper Amandine Leynaud, without whom the French would certainly have concealed a new defeat.
