Two civilians were killed and 10 others injured in an airstrike by a retired brigade of Hefter on residential neighborhoods in al-Sawani area (south of the Libyan capital Tripoli).

Sources with the island said that Hifter planes intensified their air raids in conjunction with a ground attack launched in the axis of Azizia (south of Tripoli).

The correspondent quoted a military source in the Accord government that government forces repelled an attack by Hifter forces in the axis of Sawani, after violent clashes that lasted for hours.

Since April 4, Hifter's forces have launched an assault on Tripoli under the pretext of ending the "militia rule" but have been unable to penetrate the walls of the capital.

The clashes resulted in the deaths of about 1,100 people, including dozens of civilians, and wounded about 6,000 others, while the number of displaced people exceeded 120 thousand people, according to UN agencies.

Since 2011, Libya has been suffering from a struggle for legitimacy and power that is currently centered between the internationally recognized national reconciliation government based in Tripoli (west), and the interim government in the eastern city of Bayda, and is affiliated with the House of Representatives in Tobruk, which is backed by Hifter's forces.
