Earlier, China protested to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet for her “inappropriate comments” about the situation in Hong Kong, which were published in an article in the South China Morning Post.

So, in her material there was a call to the Hong Kong authorities to investigate because of complaints about the use of excessive force in dispersing protesters.

On November 28, Trump signed into Hong Kong with a Democracy and Human Rights Act to impose sanctions on those who violate human rights.

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Yucheng summoned US Ambassador to Beijing Terry Branstead and expressed his protest over the signing of the law.
