by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 01 December 2019The Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the regions concerned, issued a further notice of adverse weather conditions that complements and extends the one already released yesterday. The regions are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories involved.

The further instability on our country is due to the passage of a perturbation of Atlantic origin active today, December 1st, on the North-western regions that, during the next night, will move towards Levante extending the phenomena to the central peninsular regions, with even intense rains and thunderstorms.

On the basis of the phenomena envisaged, it was evaluated tomorrow, December 2, for an orange alert on southern Veneto and on the central sectors of Emilia-Romagna, where precipitation is expected also with a reverse or temporal character.

Yellow alert on Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, central-northern Marche, on Molise, in Western Emilia-Romagna and South-eastern sectors, on Central-Eastern Liguria and on southern sectors of Lombardy.

In general the meteorological phenomena will be accompanied by heavy rain showers, local hailstorms, frequent electric activity and strong gusts of wind. The weather phenomena, affecting different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological problems.

The weather situation is reported, in a national summary, in the National Bulletin of critical issues and alerts available on the Department's website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
