The boy and his family came from the UK and were visiting relatives in Gothenburg when someone threw a hand grenade through the window. The sleeping eight-year-old died from the detonation. The attack is believed to have been part of an ongoing gang conflict.
A total of 14 people stayed in the apartment. The five who were now awarded damages receive between SEK 98,000 and 125,000 each. The other nine who were in the apartment may receive compensation later.
