He served thirteen months in preventive detention for alleged involvement in a corruption case of the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht. The release was ordered by the constitutional court. "It was the most painful event of my life," Fujimori said as she left the prison, where she hugged her husband in front of a large group of supporters.
