Yorgen Fenech, one of Malta's richest men, was indicted on Saturday, November 30, by a court in Valletta for complicity in murder in the investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in 2017

The businessman pleaded not guilty to this and other charges related to this investigation.

Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was investigating corruption scandals and cases of money laundering or trading in influence, was killed on October 16, 2017 in a bomb blast under her car.

The investigation turned into a political crisis for the government of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. On Tuesday, the Maltese Minister of Tourism and the prime minister's cabinet chief announced their resignation, after suspicions involving them in the murder.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister should make a statement announcing his resignation Saturday night or
Sunday.
