The ski season is already in full swing in the Pyrenees. Claude Weiss, sales manager of the Gourette and La Pierre Saint-Martin stations (Pyrenees-Atlantiques), was delivering his analysis of the upcoming season on Europe 1, as the stations begin to open.

INTERVIEW

It's gone for the ski season in the Pyrenees! A third of resorts open their domain this weekend in the mountain range of southwestern France. All the lights seem to be green, thanks to the coat of snow arrived early. "We have already almost 1.70 packed and groomed snow on the top of the resorts," says the commercial manager of the Gourette and La Pierre Saint-Martin resorts (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), Claude Weiss, interviewed on Europe 1 Saturday.

He continues: "This year, the snow is really there in big quantity and without wanting to sell the skin of the bear before having killed it, I think that with the under layer of snow which one has, all is green to make a great season! "

"Who knows what can happen?"

Enthusiastic, Claude Weiss still has some reservations: "The seasons follow each other and are not alike. We see it with the last season which started very late but which ended very well. This one starts very well, who knows what can happen? We can have heavy snowfall, we can have big redoux, we can have great weather with cold conditions like that, it's still quite rare.

Whether you go skiing, snowboarding or anything else, rental shops in the area are in any case ready to welcome you. And to launch, too, their season.
