Jung Joon-young, a 30-year-old singer and Korean TV star, was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He is accused of raping several drunk women in 2016, secretly filming the scenes, and sharing these videos on an online messenger.

His friend Choi Jong-hoon, of the FT Island boy band, is sentenced to 5 years in prison for rape. These two singers " were immensely popular, so they should have shown a responsibility worthy of their fame, " said the judges. Jung Joon-young admitted to having filmed the videos but the two men deny all rape.

Judges have shown unusual firmness in a South Korea where justice is often accused of being too lenient towards sex offenders. Cases of "sex-taps" taken without the knowledge of victims are multiplying, making havoc ... but the culprits receive only light sentences.

On Sunday, Goo Hara, a K-pop singer, committed suicide. Her ex-boyfriend had threatened to broadcast videos of their sex ... but she was the victim of an intense online insult campaign.
