• Courts. The Constitutional Court faces the debate on the resources of Oriol Junqueras

Goodbye unanimity. The Plenary Session of the Constitutional Court on Thursday rejected the appeal for amparo filed by former Catalan Vice President Oriol Junqueras against the preventive detention decreed in the case of the process in a sentence that will have three individual votes of the magistrates of the so-called progressive sector of the Juan court Antonio Xiol, María Luisa Balaguer and Fernando Valdés-Re. In addition, the resolution will have the concurring vote of Judge Santiago Martínez-Vares.

After several years adopting all the decisions that affect the Catalan separatist challenge unanimously, that consensus has been broken this Thursday by voting for the presentation of the president of the Constitutional, Juan José González Rivas.

Those particular votes, which will be drafted in the coming days, and where it will foreseeably be outlined that the Supreme Court violated the prisoners' fundamental rights will open the doors of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to the defense of Junqueras.
