2023 will be an anniversary year in Strängnäs when it is to be celebrated that it was 500 years since Gustav Vasa was elected king of Sweden and already the municipality has started preparations.
- Now, in the first instance, it is a service of 25 percent that will coordinate all the forces that exist in the municipality that in different ways want to work with the historical connection that Strängnäs has, says Jacob Högfeldt (M) Municipal Board Chairman in Strängnäs.
The hope is that the anniversary will involve people all over Sweden.
- It is in many respects a symbol of the modern state of Sweden, so it is an anniversary that is not only interesting to Strängnäs but to the whole country.
