28 November 2019 "After careful consideration and with the awareness of facing an intense, important and difficult challenge, I decided to accept the civic proposal of the Five Star Movement to stand as President of the Calabria Region". This was stated in a statement by Francesco Aiello Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Calabria."I address - he adds - to the best forces in the area to find themselves around a common project shared by a broad civic alliance".
"A project - adds Professor Aiello - that finally addresses the problems that block the Calabria region. I thank the Calabrian parliamentarians and the political leader of the M5S for the trust that has been given to me as a candidate coming from civil society. I also thank the many citizens and the associations that have sent me messages of encouragement these days ".
