PostNord's terminal in Växjö was opened in 2018 and the parcel terminal handles parcels to and from southern Småland, northern Skåne, Halland and Blekinge. Normally, the terminal has about 220 employees, but to handle the expected rush of packages, even more are now taken in.
The memories of the chaos that prevailed in 2017 are still alive. The number of packages handled during Black Friday increased by 51 percent compared to the previous year. Lots of packages were left lying and Postnord had to receive a lot of complaints. From 2017 to 2018, the number of packages increased by another 25 per cent, but handling nevertheless improved. This year, the number of packages is expected to rise further.
