It is noted that 18% of respondents do not recognize the bear as a suitable symbol of the country, most of them define it as a rude and aggressive animal.

At the same time, more often than others from the Russian population, Muscovites (73%) and Siberians (70%) speak for the bear as a symbol.

In November 2018, the Russians named the symbols uniting the country.

According to a survey of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), these include the Russian people, victory in the Great Patriotic War, the novel "War and Peace" and Olivier salad.
