A bridge to Fårö has been discussed for almost 100 years, but no clear decision has ever been made. The plans that have been in place have always been on ice.

The Swedish Transport Administration can pay

In 2013, the Swedish Transport Administration conducted the latest feasibility study. Since then, discussions have taken place between the Gotland Region, which would like to see a bridge built, and the Swedish Transport Administration, which does not really have an opinion - the most important thing is that there is an infrastructure that works.

The latest message came in June this year when the Swedish Transport Administration said it was willing to pay for a bridge construction with up to SEK 650 million, so now the ball is at Region Gotland.
