The detained man was employed as a resource educator at the elementary school, but had daily contact with several students. The first police report was made when Johanna's daughter, who goes to school, tells her what she has been through at home.

- In September, my daughter spontaneously tells me that she no longer likes this man. Then she starts to tell what he has done, she says.

The incident is described to be of a sexual nature. The man is now in custody for four cases of sexual abuse. After the police report, the man was taken off duty, but it is only five weeks later that the school management comes out with information about the suspicions against the man. Then via the digital School Platform where guardians do not usually share information.

Staff sounded alarmed about the suspect's behavior

Parents now sharply criticize the school's lack of communication. But also that the school did not act when staff in the spring sounded alarm to the school management about the man's inappropriate behavior.

- Staff alerted the school management last spring that the person had done things that are not good, but the school management did not take it seriously, says a custodian, says Daniel, who is the custodian of a child at the school.

He then refers to an event in June, when a girl got a massage from the man, something the school staff reacted strongly to. The school management called the man into a disciplinary conversation, but he had to retain his position. The girl's custodian was never informed about the incident.

- So in hindsight, we should of course have informed the guardians, says the headmaster of the school.

Staff also warn that the man is locking himself in a room with specific children. He also locks the door when he is with the child to whom he is a resource.

Lawyer: Denies crime

The arrested man's lawyer tells SVT that he denies the crime.

- My client firmly denies that he has committed what is alleged, says lawyer Mikael Westerlund.

Prosecution should be brought on November 28, but according to chamber prosecutor Eugen Alm, the preliminary investigation will probably not be completed until then.
