The stolen urns, which are copies, were placed in Drottningholm Castle Park and disappeared between 19 and 20 November, something that Expressen was the first to report.

- It is very heavy and not easy to carry with you. The theft has been reported to the police by the park administration, says Margareta Thorgren Head of Information at the Royal High Court.

The original urns are from the 17th century and the time when Queen Hedvig Eleonora lived at Drottningholm castle. To keep the style of the castle and the park, copies were made in 1988.

- The originals are in principle priceless and stored at Drottningholm castle. But I do not know where the objects are, says Margareta Thorgren.

Previous thefts

According to Margareta Thorgren, thefts from Drottningholm's castle have also previously occurred.

- But the items have come back when they try to sell the theft and art dealers recognize the items.

Now you look over the security of the objects in the park.

- It is important to keep the park beautiful all year round. The royal cultural heritage is very unique. Nothing is sold but followed for generations, concludes Margareta Thorgren.
