SVT News Halland has previously reported on how housing in the residential area of Trottaberg outside Halmstad has angered the municipality. The residents woke up to the spotlight and excavated land right next to the site - and the municipality had failed to notify them. The neighbors chose to appeal the land law, but now the municipality has granted a new one.

Paused work

The new decision states, among other things, that the land law does not contravene the current detailed plan and that there is no risk of "significant inconvenience" due to the dams.

When the county administrative board overturned the old decision on land permits earlier in November, Halmstad municipality decided to pause the work until further notice.

"We are now waiting to continue the work until the appeal period for the new land law has expired," says Jonas Wilsby, project manager at the Technology and Leisure Administration in Halmstad Municipality, in a press release.
