According to data from the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology and from the USGS US Geological Survey, the earthquake had a hypocenter at a depth of about 10 km and epicenter between Shijak and Durres. The quake was felt until the capital Tirana, where people took to the streets in a panic. No information is yet available on any victims or damages.
