This was stated by the representative of the fund in Ukraine, Ron van Roden, following the visit of the mission to the country.

“The mission has made significant progress in discussing policies and reforms that can form the basis of a new IMF-supported lending program. Among them are monetary, fiscal and financial policies, as well as reforms aimed at improving the business environment, strengthening the rule of law and accelerating economic growth, ”the statement said.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk commented on the work of the IMF mission in Ukraine.

As the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova noted, the authorities intend to complete the IMF cooperation in 2023 and completely switch to self-sufficiency.

Political scientist, former adviser to ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, in an interview with the NSN, warned of a possible IMF refusal to finance Kiev.
