Facebook launched Monday Viewpoints, an application that offers to pay users who agree to participate in missions, surveys and studies.

To create an account on Viewpoints, the user must provide a certain amount of information such as name, e-mail address, place of residence, date of birth and gender.

The app then invites him to participate in different programs, which can be online quizzes or product tests.

The first proposed program is a "well-being survey" whose purpose, according to Facebook, is "to design better products to limit the negative impact of social networks and improve their benefits".

Once a program is complete, the user receives points that can accumulate to receive money, transferred via PayPal.

Often criticized for using the personal data of its members, Facebook has ensured that the information provided to Viewpoints would be protected.

"We will not sell the information collected on this application to third parties, we will not publicly share your Viewpoints activity on Facebook or other linked accounts without your permission, and you may terminate your participation at any time." assured product manager Erez Naveh in a blog post.

Viewpoints is for people 18 years of age and over who live in the United States and have a Facebook account. The group said it wants to launch the application in other countries next year.
