• La Coruña Fails for the second time the attempt to uncork the Blue Star of the Ares coast

Two people have been arrested in the Aldán estuary this Sunday, in the municipality of Pontevedra de Cangas , when they were caught in a submarine carrying drugs to the Galician coast.

This is an internationally coordinated anti-drug operation that has been working intensively since last morning, explained the Government delegate in Galicia, Javier Losada , in statements to the Galega Radio collected by Europa Press.

At this time the agents of the Civil Guard, Customs Surveillance and National Police are working to refloat the submarine, but they may not be able to do it this Sunday due to "insufficient means", as confirmed by Europa Press sources of the National Police.

Despite the fact that helicopters from the State Security Forces and Corps have been moved to the area, as well as other devices for the reflote, most of the means that were needed were found so far in the work of dismantling the Blue ship Star in Ares (A Coruña).

International operational

On the other hand, Losada explained that as it is an internationally coordinated operation, the type of cargo and quantity that the submersible carries will be confirmed once the submarine is finished refloating and agents can enter it.

The underwater is 20 meters long and this method of drug trafficking is very novel for the introduction of drugs in the Galician coast, added the representative of the Government in Galicia .

In addition to being a complex operation due to the development of the device and the involvement of a submarine, the inclement weather does not facilitate the situation.
