The president of St. Petersburg State University Lyudmila Verbitskaya died

“Unfortunately, Verbitskaya passed away today (November 24th - RT ),” the representative of the TASS University quoted as saying.

The time and place of the funeral will be announced later.

In 2008, Verbitskaya was appointed president of St. Petersburg State University.

She was also the dean of the faculty of philology and an honorary professor at the university.

In 2013, Verbitskaya was elected president of the Russian Academy of Education.

At the end of May, a historian died in Moscow, and the author of more than 150 scientific works, Natalia Basovskaya.
