In the Irkutsk region, the investigating authorities began an investigation into the accident in which the mayor of the city of Tulun, Yuri Karikh, suffered, and his wife also died. According to preliminary data, Karikh was driving a car in the direction of Tulun in the Cheremkhovsky district and crashed into a truck standing on the side of the road.
“A preliminary investigation was organized into the fact of a traffic accident with the participation of the mayor of the city of Tulun,” the department said.
Currently, on-site investigators work.
Five people were previously killed in a collision between a car and a truck on a highway in North Ossetia.
