For more than a week now difficulties have accumulated to try to find something to eat in the capital La Paz and El Alto, the city that adjoins it. But the authorities reached an agreement with community groups blocking the roads. An agreement to call new elections would also be close.

Jeanine Añez, who has proclaimed herself interim president , is she about to keep her bet? She said that her main mission was to pacify the country.

If we believe the national press this Saturday, the interim authorities are about to sign agreements with supporters of Evo Morales who block for many days the roads. Blockages that result in shortages in the Bolivian capital and El Alto, which has also caused a staggering inflation of commodities.

It is urgent, because according to the Minister of Productive Development more than 2,000 trucks are blocked on the road linking Santa Cruz to La Paz. Trucks that, for the most part, carry food.

An agreement for new elections?

The other issue that seems to be moving forward is the bill that is going to call for new elections. This week two bills were drafted, the first by the presidency and the second by the elected representatives of the MAS, the political party of Evo Morales , majority in the hemicycle.

It is on the basis of these projects that the elected officials managed to draw up a text on Friday, November 22nd which is the subject of a consensus. This bill must be submitted to the vote of elected officials. A project that will allow the election of new members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and to convene, as soon as possible, new elections.
