According to the police, it is an important job to be present at schools - to reduce recruitment to criminal gangs.

- We need to increase attendance even when students are at school, says Lisa Sannervik.

The police work at the schools means that more police will be visible in the schools premises. The police also plan to do more searches with dogs in the school environment during school hours - in search of drugs.

The checks will be done in consultation with the municipality and the specifically selected school at the moment.

- It is natural for us to continue to develop the collaboration, says Lisa Sannervik.

One of the reasons is that the heavy drug seems to have made its entrance into the youth and school environment in Uppsala. Among other things, heroin seizures have been seized in public spaces around the Resecentrum in recent weeks, while several seizures of cocaine, among others, have been made in school yards during the fall.

The work is also underway for a new cooperation agreement between the police and the municipality. It will apply between the years 2020 and 2024 - and involves a continuation of forms of collaboration such as SSPF, where collaboration takes place between social services, school, police and leisure.

- If you want to keep young people off the bus, a good relationship with the police is the best way to go, says Torbjörn Kättström, rector of Uvengymnasiet.
