“The programs are part of the holding, the real beneficiary of which is Yuriy Kovalchuk, with respect to which the sanctions of the European Union (EU) are established for undermining the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.

They recalled that the restrictive measures of the EU without fail extends to the territory of the country.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the cessation of broadcasting of a number of Russian channels in Latvia “outspoken attempts to clean up” the media space from alternative and objectionable points of view.
