The costumes of Batman and his acolyte Robin in the famous television series of the 1960s will soon be on sale in Los Angeles, with a collection of other relics of popular culture, such as "Star Trek" or "Happy Days".
Although they may not be up to date, the outfits of the superheroes in the 120 episodes aired from 1966 to 1968 should still reach $ 150,000 to $ 200,000.
According to the auction house, Profiles in History, which holds the auction on December 17, it is the only complete pair of costumes used by Adam West and Burt Ward to play Batman and Robin.
Other items from the cult series will also be under the hammer, like an articulated bust of Shakespeare concealing a button to open the "batcave" or the red phone equipping the batmobile.
The sale of John Azarian's collection, considered one of the largest in the world, also includes tunics worn by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, respectively Captain James Kirk and Dr. Spock, in the Star Trek series, estimated at between 40,000 and $ 60,000.
In another area, one of the famous black leather jackets of "Fonzie" (Henry Winkler) in the series "Happy Days" should reach at least 25,000 dollars.
Last September, the same Profiles in History home sold a Darth Vader helmet in "The Empire Strikes Back" for $ 1.125 million.
